'Dogs - As Companions; As Prizewinners; As A Career'
Charming vintage book written by Betty Penn-Bull, who was president of the Scottish Terrier breeders and exhibitors association and an icon in the world of Scottish Terriers. She was a celebrated author, journalist and teacher - breeding and exhibiting her world- famous Scots under the Kennelgarth prefix.
This is a slim volume. A 122 page (plus adverts) hardback book, with beige cover boards.
It contains information on breeding, grooming and showing dogs, as well as how to choose your pet. There is a gorgeous illustration of a Scottish Terrier by Lucy Dawson on the cover, as well as numerous black & white photos and illustrations inside and two pages of contemporary advertisements.
Really informative and practical - would make a great gift for a dog lover, breeder, or dog groomer - or just someone who's into retro doggie memorabilia!
Wonderful nostalgic item - very evocative of its time.
Large crack inside back cover (visible as a crease from outside) - see photos.
Aside from that, good used, vintage condition.
Small crease on one top corner of cover.
Inscription on flyleaf
Small pen marks on one page (see picture) - otherwise excellent clean pages.
