DIY jobs - handyman & odd job doer available in Cork
Date Listed 11/07/2017
I'm available to help with odd jobs around Cork right away. I have experience in DIY electrical wiring (to UK and Irish standards) and plumbing, interior and exterior painting and decorating, carpentry, joinery, gardening, roofing, mechanical and electronic maintenance and computers & networking. I am experienced in using power drills (SDS, hammer and pillar), bandsaws, lathes, CNC and manual milling machines, scroll saws, jig saws, circular saws, chopsaws, table saws, soldering irons, desoldering pumps, electric screwdrivers, glue guns, lawnmowers, strimmers, hedge trimmers, hand tools, vices and clamps of all kinds, ladders and scaffolds, and of course workshop and site protection, cleaning, tidying and organisation! Examples: I'm as happy insulating a loft and fitting a new storage floor (2013) as building a computer (various times 2006-present), re-laying crazy paving (2014), installing a toilet cistern and two sinks with bandsaw-cut brackets (2016) or sanding and painting a collection of Victorian radiators in a farmhouse (2003). I also have some experience in 3D printing, though I don't currently own a 3D printer, and have used 3D printed parts in repair and adaptation jobs before. It would be really grand to get back into DIY-type work again, the sooner the better.
Please note that I am not a qualified electrician or gas engineer.
If you get me to do electrical work it will still need to be checked afterwards by a qualified electrician, but the cost overall is likely to be lower this way than having the electrician do all the work.
I can not do gas pipework as this would be beyond what I am sure I can safely and legally do. I can do hot and cold water, overflow and waste plumbing, and ink plumbing for printer upgrades and repairs outside of warranty.
I am also experienced in the use of pressure washers, and am happy to make use of them to clean your patio, path, car, bus or other waterproof surfaces provided they and the pressure washer are in safe condition.
I am based in Blarney, I use a bicycle with trailer, private lifts/rides and public transport to get around until I can afford a car.
