Job description

As a Kitchen Porter, you will assist your team to provide all the necessary support to uphold the cleanliness and hygiene standards in all food-processing facilities, as well as the maintenance and replacement of all operating equipment.

  •  Complies with all statutory and legal requirements for fire, hygiene, health & food safety, GDPR, and employment legislation.
  •  Adheres to the crisis management and business continuity plans for the department.
  •  Follow all departmental Standard Operating Procedures to the highest degree.
  •  Carry out all tasks outlined in the shift task list to a high level.
  •  Prepare sufficient mise-en-place for the kitchen.
  •  Wash and store all cutlery, crockery and kitchen utensils to the hotel standard and as per training.
  •  Follow instructions on the cleaning, preparation and emptying of the dishwasher, as per training.
  •  Adhere to all COSHH regulations as per training, regarding the use and storage of cleaning detergents / chemicals.
  •  Ensure your assigned area is ran in an organised and hygienic fashion, complying with cleaning schedules as per training and to the department standard.
  •  Work in such a way as to avoid breakage’s, taking due care and attention with all resort property.
  •  Take the necessary steps identified to curtail wastage.
  •  Request all requisitions from the stores department.
  •  Store all kitchen supplies as requested, in their designated area and in the correct fashion as per training.
  •  Liaise effectively with all sections of the kitchen.
  •  Display a professional, caring and anticipative attitude and approach to your work and colleagues at all times.
  •  Demonstrate a flexible approach, carrying out any request made by a member of your team.
