Editing and Proofreading by Oxford PhD (Law)
Date Listed 03/07/2017
I am a PhD (DPhil) candidate at Oxford University working at the intersection of law and politics. I recently finished writing my doctoral dissertation and am now on the academic job market. On the side, I have been editing and proofreading for more than 15 years for all disciplines and subject areas, and can also provide research and writing assistance (e.g. with proposals and postgraduate applications as well as legal documents).
Previously, I worked as an editor and proofreader for Oxford University Press and have been an editorial assistant for various academic journals. In addition, I have helped numerous undergraduates, graduates, as well as academics with assignments, essays, and book projects. My proofreading and editing services can be tailored to fit any writer, but I specialise in dissertations and theses.
Please get in touch for more information about me, including my institutional e-mail and webpage, academic (peer-reviewed) publications in law, published acknowledgments of my work, and detailed rates. We may also correspond by Whatsapp, Skype, and / or iMessage and I usually respond within minutes.
A brief summary of editorial services I provide:
• Academic editing
• Dissertation and thesis editing
• Legal and corporate editing
• Research and editorial assistance
• Assistance with postgraduate applications, CVs, etc.
The editing / proofreading process is extremely rigorous. I begin by reading the text as a whole to check for things like logic, organisation, coherence, and cogency. The second round of work is more fine-grained, and I focus on the mechanical elements of language, like grammar, structure, phrasing, word choice, etc.
Thank you for reading and good luck with your writing.
