My client located in Cavan requires an experienced Environmental Officer.
Environmental qualification or equivalent
Proficient in MS Office
Experience in auditing Environmental management systems (desirable)
Environmental in-house training would be an advantage
Able to produce clear, concise reports and to present reports to senior management at meetings.
Ability to build strong relationships with Senior Managers, Clients and all level of colleagues within the company
Eagerness to learn new skills and develop role within the business
Good commercial awareness.
Good presentation skills to undertake training, when required
Have an eye for detail, efficient and accurate
Confident, confidential and flexible working approach
Ability to use own initiative and with excellent time management skills.
Ability to take responsibility for own work
Excellent communication skills and ability to deal with a variety of company personnel at all levels of the organisation

Working with all levels of management to develop and implement processes to achieve legal compliance and Environmental best practice
Play a lead role in managing the companies Environmental compliance, obligations and initiatives
Assist and work with the, EHS Manager, Health and Safety Advisor, Quality Manager in addition to other department managers, to ensure that the administration of the requirements of the Integrated Management Systems, are effectively developed, implemented and maintained
Provide guidance and support management in the development of site specific risk analysis and method statements SOP’S and training schedules
Carrying out Environmental inspections and audits across each of our sites
Participate in Environmental related meetings, record and produce statistics for same
Investigate near misses, accidents, incidents and dangerous occurrences and producing reports and making recommendations for improvements
Undertake in-house training with managers and employees about Environmental issues and risks
Proactively supporting the development of promotional campaigns and materials to raise awareness of hazards, incidents and preventative actions
Producing, as requested, progress reports to the EHS Manager
Monitoring and reviewing the effectiveness of policies and strategies within each including coordinating reports and supporting developing, measuring and reporting on KPIs
Salary will very much depend on experience but will range at €40k - €45k DOE
