JASON COLLINS PLANT HIRE LIMITED is seeking 3 full-time Shuttering Carpenters – entry level to join its construction team.
Location: Liscahane, Millstreet, Co. Cork, with work at various construction sites within the region.
Employment Type: Full-time, 24-month contract
Hours: 39 hours per week
Salary: €36,605 per annum, equivalent to approximately €18.05 per hour based on a 39-hour working week.
Job Description
The successful candidates will work as Entry level carrying out shuttering and formwork duties on commercial and civil construction projects.
The role will involve assisting with the preparation, assembly, installation and dismantling of shuttering and formwork systems used in reinforced concrete construction.
Work will be carried out under the direction of experienced site personnel and in accordance with construction drawings, site instructions and health and safety requirements.
Main Duties
Assist with the preparation and installation of shuttering and formwork for concrete structures.
Assist in constructing formwork for walls, columns, beams, foundations and concrete slabs.
Measure, cut and prepare timber and other formwork materials as instructed.
Assemble and position shuttering and formwork systems under appropriate site supervision.
Assist with alignment and securing of formwork prior to concrete placement.
Support concrete and steel-fixing teams during structural concrete works.
Follow construction drawings, measurements and instructions provided by supervisors and experienced tradespersons.
Safely use hand tools and power tools appropriate to the role.
Assist with dismantling, cleaning and preparing formwork systems for reuse.
Maintain a clean and safe working area.
Comply with all site health and safety procedures.
Work effectively as part of the construction team.
Requirements
Applicants must be over 18 years of age.
This is an entry-level shuttering carpenter position. The successful candidate will carry out shuttering and formwork duties under the direction and supervision of experienced site personnel.
Previous basic exposure to construction, shuttering, formwork or concrete work is advantageous but not essential.
Ability and willingness to learn shuttering and formwork techniques.
Ability to follow drawings, measurements and site instructions.
Ability to safely use basic construction tools following appropriate instruction.
Good attention to detail.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Health and safety requirements.
Commitment to complying with all construction-site health and safety procedures.
Training, instruction and appropriate site supervision will be provided as required for the position.
