About me: I'm based in Dublin 9 and have worked as a software engineer for over 25 years, with a B.Sc. in Information Technology and a Postgrad cert in Data Analytics from DCU. I explain AI in a clear, structured way - cutting through hype and technical jargon to focus on how these systems actually function and how they can be used responsibly. I begin with the foundations of AI fundamentals, explore the history of AI’s development, examine the major organisations behind today’s leading frontier models, and provide a practical explanation of how large language models operate. I also cover the wide range of AI tools and applications now available, with a strong emphasis on real-world use cases.
