• Rare 19th century Irish Victorian pine Bedside Cabinet by Dublin furniture maker Patrick Beakey
• C 1850-60s
• P Beakey (or Patrick Beakey) referenced by The Knight of Glin in 'Furniture History' and in 'Thom’s Almanac and Official Directory for the year 1862'
• Also referenced in 'Dictionary of Irish Architects 1720-1940'
• This cabinet is very practical – fitted with shelf inside and narrow for a small bedroom
• 38cm deep x 78cm high
• Condition: Lovely patina developed through age; marks and scratches to the surface commensurate with age – please see photos

Patrick Beakey history:
• Beakey was based at 5 Stafford Street, Dublin, first appearing in Wilson's Dublin Directory for 1825, his business expanding so that by 1853 he is styled 'cabinet maker to Her Majesty's Board of Works'
• Beakey is known for creating the stalls and bishop's throne at Cobh cathedral, and the organ case, choir stalls, cardinal's throne seats at Armagh RC cathedral
• He died in Stafford Street in 1867, his workshop continuing until Edwardian times
