Description
Working with the construction team and maintaining at all times clear communication and levels of service.
You will have to have 5 years experience in Construction.
This role is office based in Offaly
Manage and maintain materials and plant budgets on projects and prepare financial reports to highlight performance against budgets
Strategic management of materials and plant within the business
Working with our Estimating team to provide assistance with rates and prices on tenders
Provide regular updates on price fluctuations to the Construction and Commercial teams
Review invoice queries and liaise with relevant parties to resolve any issues in a timely manner
Work closely with the Construction teams in regards to co-ordination of material deliveries to ensure delivery of materials to site in a timely manner
Source and investigate innovative products entering the market and seek alternative products where applicable to develop value engineered solutions for use on our projects
Review and forecast latest material and plant rates and report any movement on a monthly basis
Attend financial review meetings for each construction project, as required
Ensuring the availability of materials to maximise efficiency.
Produce, understand and maintain procurement schedules, raising Purchase Orders
Being proactive with suppliers, subcontractors on price increases, material availability, and delivery logistics
Willing to make decisions and take responsibility for them
Key skills required:
Strong communication skills
In depth knowledge of construction materials & products and construction plant
Have prior purchasing experience within either the civil engineering or building industry
Have a sound understanding of supply chain principles and the ability to apply those skills in a demanding environment
Good organisation skills used in planning your own work and assisting members of your team
Willingness to implement continuous improvement in all activities
