Dairy Farm Assistant

We are seeking a dependable and hardworking Dairy Farm Assistant to support the daily operations of our dairy farm. The successful candidate will assist with milking, feeding and caring for dairy cattle, maintaining livestock facilities and carrying out routine farm duties.
Duties and responsibilities
- Assist with daily milking operations and maintain clean milking facilities.
- Feed livestock and ensure that animals have access to clean water.
- Monitor the health and welfare of cattle and report signs of illness or injury.
- Assist with calving and the care of calves, as required.
- Clean and maintain animal housing, sheds, yards and feeding areas.
- Assist with the safe handling and movement of livestock.
- Clean and maintain farm tools, machinery and equipment in accordance with safety procedures.
- Assist with routine farm maintenance and other agricultural duties.
- Follow animal welfare, hygiene, biosecurity and occupational health and safety procedures.

Skills
- Physical stamina and strength
Ability to operate heavy machinery safely
Knowledge of timber grading and forestry practices
Teamwork and communication skills
Attention to safety and detail
Basic mechanical skills for equipment maintenance

Hours per week: 39 Hours Per Week
Salary: 36,605.00 Per Annum.
